Our Purpose
Our intent is to provide you with timely news and resources from the leading edge of human achievement. The conventional media focuses almost entirely on individual or collective human failure and dysfunction. While this represents only a tiny fraction of the human experience, it dominates the media and therefore molds our individual thoughts and collective consciousness. Since we know that "form follows thought," it is only logical that as we continue to collectively focus on failure, we will continue to create more of the same.

The world faces many challenges and it is important to acknowledge these and deal with them. The conventional press and most of the alternative press are doing an excellent job of bringing these to our attention.

Our intent is to report on events, activities, achievements, project and people who represent the highest and best of human endeavor and what we can achieve, both individually and collectively. We believe that this represents the true nature of who we are.

Our purpose is not only to inform and inspire, but to provide cross cultural models from around the world as to what people are doing to solve world problems and create new options.

Positive News completely shares these aims and objectives with those of GVN. We see the Global Village as those throughout the world who have seen a vision of a new era and are dedicated into bringing it into reality.

Unlimited New Energy from Sun and Water

A revolutionary new way of harnessing the power of the sun to extract almost unlimited energy from water will be a reality within seven years. “It would be the cheapest, cleanest and most abundant energy source ever developed,” say scientists from Australia’s University of New South Wales. Guest Editorial

Water, Lifeforce by Maggie Black

The world is running out of water. That is what the doom-mongers say and there is no doubt that the growing world population and its devouring thirst for water is putting our finite supplies under severe strain.
Large numbers of people are already suffering water stress meaning that the available supply per head is less than 1,700 cubic metres. In Africa the figure is 3,000 million and growing, over one-third of the continent's pop-ulation. In the Middle East, nine out of 14 countries face water scarcity meaning that the supply is already down to less than 1,000 cubic metres annually per head. What happens when their populations double, as those of several will do within 25 years?

Living Values Education Programme
www.Livingvalues.net
Living Values: An Educational Program (LVEP) is a comprehensive values education program. This innovative global character education program offers a wide variety of experiential values activities and practical methodologies to educators, facilitators, parents and caregivers that enable children and young adults to explore and develop twelve universal values. In addition to programs for classrooms and parent groups, LVEP offers special materials for street children, children affected by war, and children affected by earthquakes.
Implemented in 74 countries at over 7,000 sites, educators implementing LVEP report positive changes in teacher-student relationships and in student-student relationships both inside and outside the classroom. Educators note an increase in respect, caring, cooperation, motivation, and the ability to solve peer conflicts on the part of the students. Aggressive behaviors decline as positive social skills and respect increase. LVEP helps educators create safe, caring values-based atmospheres for quality learning.
