Our Purpose
Our intent is to provide you with timely news and resources from the leading edge of human achievement. The conventional media focuses almost entirely on individual or collective human failure and dysfunction. While this represents only a tiny fraction of the human experience, it dominates the media and therefore molds our individual thoughts and collective consciousness. Since we know that "form follows thought," it is only logical that as we continue to collectively focus on failure, we will continue to create more of the same.

The world faces many challenges and it is important to acknowledge these and deal with them. The conventional press and most of the alternative press are doing an excellent job of bringing these to our attention.

Our intent is to report on events, activities, achievements, project and people who represent the highest and best of human endeavor and what we can achieve, both individually and collectively. We believe that this represents the true nature of who we are.

Our purpose is not only to inform and inspire, but to provide cross cultural models from around the world as to what people are doing to solve world problems and create new options.

Positive News completely shares these aims and objectives with those of GVN. We see the Global Village as those throughout the world who have seen a vision of a new era and are dedicated into bringing it into reality.

Electronic Parliament Promises Global Grassroots Government
GLOBAL - An initiative is underway to design an ‘e-Parliament’, a forum based mainly on the Internet, where the world’s democratically-elected legislators would engage with civil society in a joint search for creative solutions to global problems. The proposal is being developed by EarthAction, a global network of citizen groups and legislators, together with the Harvard Program on Negotiation, the World Federation of United Nations Associations, One World Now, the Humanitarian Group for Social Development and several existing international parliamentary networks.

PHILIPPINES -- Most economic news these days is about mega-mergers of corporate giants and the globalization of the world economy. However there is a growing sector of cooperative-based, micro-enterprise initiatives around the world which are quietly working to bring about a decentralized and sustainable economic system. Old-fashioned Potlucks Bridge Ethnic Barriers
USA - In South Africa, it’s called Koinonia – a meal-sharing project that attempts to counter apartheid by bringing black and white people together. In San Mateo, California it’s a good old-fashioned potluck that brought two black couples and two white couples together several years ago to share food and personal histories. The four couples soon became friends and their efforts laid the foundation for a nationwide movement that brings together diverse ethic and religious groups at the local level, to share food and personal stories.
