Our Purpose
Our intent is to provide you with timely news and resources from the
leading edge of human achievement. The conventional media focuses almost
entirely on individual or collective human failure and dysfunction. While this
represents only a tiny fraction of the human experience, it dominates the media
and therefore molds our individual thoughts and collective consciousness. Since
we know that "form follows thought," it is only logical that as we continue to
collectively focus on failure, we will continue to create more of the same.
The world faces many challenges and it is important to acknowledge these and
deal with them. The conventional press and most of the alternative press are
doing an excellent job of bringing these to our attention.
Our intent is to report on events, activities, achievements, project and
people who represent the highest and best of human endeavor and what we can
achieve, both individually and collectively. We believe that this represents the
true nature of who we are.
Our purpose is not only to inform and inspire, but to provide cross cultural
models from around the world as to what people are doing to solve world problems
and create new options.
Positive News completely shares these aims and objectives with those of GVN.
We see the Global Village as those throughout the world who have seen a vision
of a new era and are dedicated into bringing it into reality.

Positive News was handed the guardianship
of Global Village News and Resources in summer of 2004. Although we would like
to continue to make the archives available to subscribers and readers we would
like to point out that stories published prior to issue 89 were not under our
editorial guidance and would like to make a distinction that these are not
necessarily a reflection of the current opinions of our editorial team.

Global Village School – Educating
For The 21st Century
USA – (by T. Barber) Imagine a child who is never taught to hate,
but to understand and co-exist. Envision a child who is educated about
community and social justice instead of divisiveness. Picture the adult
this child will become; imagine a world filled with these adults. You
have just seen the vision of The Global Village School for Peace and
Diversity Studies (GVS), a non-profit, distance-learning K-12 school
based in Southern California.

An Obituary
The Day America Died
by Michael Lightweaver
March 20, 2003
This morning we received the sad news that Uncle Sam died. After a
prolonged two-year illness, he passed away last night. According to
the doctors, the final blow was 'heart failure' arising from
complications of a two year struggle with a virulent strain of greed
and arrogance.
He is survived by his widow, Lady Liberty, who is has gone into
mourning and is no longer receiving visitors. He is also survived by
his two sons; Dr. Jekell a resident of fairfield, Iowa and Mr. Hyde
of Crawford, Texas.
Funeral arrangements are pending.

AIDS Criticism Resource Guide
www.orgonelab.org/aidscrit.htm
There are several important web sites on internet which gather solid
scientific, factual information debunking the "official truth" of
"Infectious HIV" as the cause of AIDS, or for that matter, that AIDS is
incurable, or that it even is afflicting so many people as the media
propaganda would have it. Remember the "official lies" about the Vietnam
War? Nuclear Power? Learn, or be burned once again.

The Hunger Site
www.thehungersite.com
Every day you can make a contribution to easing world hunger just by
clicking on the "donate free food" button on the internet home page of
The Hunger Site The contribution is made to the United Nations World
Food Program. The Hunger Site allows each visitor to make a daily
contribution of food to one of the 800 million starving people around
the world and at no financial cost to them! The amount of food depends
on the number of sponsors that day. Each advertiser pays for one quarter
cup of food per click. If there are four sponsors on a given day, then
each click is equivalent to one cup of food. The more sponsors there
are, the more food is donated. On November 18, 1999 your donation would
have been 1 3/4 cups of rice, wheat, maize or other staple food added to
over 100 tons delivered weekly. Since the site's inception in June,
donations have grown from 173,000 to 4.8 million, or 6.3 million cups of
food, according to Francis Mwanza, spokeswoman for the World Food
Program that feeds people in 80 nations. "The extraordinary growth of
The Hunger Site has shown us the potential of the Internet in the fight
against hunger," she said.
