Our Purpose
Our intent is to provide you with timely news and resources from the leading edge of human achievement. The conventional media focuses almost entirely on individual or collective human failure and dysfunction. While this represents only a tiny fraction of the human experience, it dominates the media and therefore molds our individual thoughts and collective consciousness. Since we know that "form follows thought," it is only logical that as we continue to collectively focus on failure, we will continue to create more of the same.

The world faces many challenges and it is important to acknowledge these and deal with them. The conventional press and most of the alternative press are doing an excellent job of bringing these to our attention.

Our intent is to report on events, activities, achievements, project and people who represent the highest and best of human endeavor and what we can achieve, both individually and collectively. We believe that this represents the true nature of who we are.

Our purpose is not only to inform and inspire, but to provide cross cultural models from around the world as to what people are doing to solve world problems and create new options.

Positive News completely shares these aims and objectives with those of GVN. We see the Global Village as those throughout the world who have seen a vision of a new era and are dedicated into bringing it into reality.

In The News…

Editorial
Shauna Crockett-Burrows

As you see we are still using the old format as the new is not quite ready - there's just so much going on.

Positive News has always been at the forefront of writing about the changes taking place but changes today are happening very rapidly. Everywhere new projects are springing up, which is great! But it is impossible for us to know about and report on everything that is happening. Even if we did know about it all, we wouldn’t be able to fit it all in the paper nor would we have the time.

Carrot Power

A new and revolutionary material made from the humble carrot could soon begin to replace materials such as glass fibre and carbon fibre in all sorts of things, from fishing rods to car parts. Through a special new process, nano fibres found in carrots and created by the energy of Mother Nature, are extracted and combined with resins. The result is a tough and durable component that can be moulded to whatever shape, degree of stiffness, strength or weight required.

Sharing Energy Solutions in Africa

The e-Parliament recently held its first Hearing on Sustainable Energy for All in Kenya. The aim was to accelerate the transition to an energy-efficient world economy, powered by sustainable energy – a world where even the poorest citizens would have access to energy. A group of 19 national and regional legislators from 13 African and European countries heard presentations on successful policies that they could then promote through their own parliaments.
